Situated at the centre of the traditional Cheshire village of Farndon Dawson’s Diy has recently undergone extensive and caring renovations. The property houses both the Red Moon Interiors business and the more traditional local DIY facility. The property which dates back to 1870 has had over £100000 worth of investment including the building of a magnificent new frontage. The hand built Georgian style window facade is complimented by the wide approach steps leading to the shop. The work, carried under the direction of Cheshire conservation officers compliments the village and has immeasurably improved the whole look of Farndon high street. |

Inside the premises, which were originally two-terraced houses-previously a petrol station, a bike shop and a newsagents, the living area has been expanded to include an additional bedroom, terracing at the back and a completely rebuilt storage and office area. In addition the shop has been divided into two, one housing DIY the other to a showroom for Kitchens, wooden flooring and blinds. The reaction of the village to the improvements has been extremely gratifying with visitors and locals complementing the renovations. In fact the County council conservation officer has recommended the shop for inclusion in the Cheshire County design award scheme, because it has changed the face of the High Street and village. The project was designed from concept to conclusion by the owner Will Pollard and his brother in law, Steve Whatmore who is a master craftsman, over a period of two years, Steve is know the manager of the kitchen and bedroom fitting. |
